Reading Sludge.

My reading has slowed down a bit. I was doing well at the start of February and finished five books. Now that it’s February, I’m in a my usual mood with reading. I start a book, decide I don’t want to read it and pick up another one. This has happened to me several times in the last couple of weeks and I’m not sure if it’s because I’m in a mood or I really don’t like reading anymore like I’ve been saying off and off for a few years.

Right now I’m reading Blood in the Water by Caleb Roehrig. Apparently the mystery box subscription Hunt a Killer is now doing young adult mysteries loosely based on their mysteries they’ve done before. I’m halfway through it and it’s not the greatest of books. We go from one clue to the next without much development in characters or plot. I would guess it’s trying to be a YA version of Nancy Drew/Hardy Boys but it’s not even that. At least Nancy Drew is fleshed out.

On a bright note the library I go to that’s not my work extended their checkout time for books from a couple weeks to a month. That makes me happy because it’s 40 minutes away, so I don’t have to go as frequently.

  1. I can empathise with this – many times I have started a book and found that it is just not very good. Rather than persevere, I am quite ok about stopping reading it – my time is too precious!

    1. My interest in books has been meh for a few years now. I’ve worked in a library for so long that reading is a job instead of something to enjoy
