You have the chance to meet someone with whom you can have the most satisfying love imaginable — the stuff of dreams. Sadly, you know that in six months the person will die Knowing the pain that would follow, would you still want to meet the person and fall in love? What if you knew your lover would not die, but instead would betray you?
If I knew they’d die in 6 months, I’d still be with them, because I’d love them. No one would want to die alone. As far as if they’d betray you, I don’t know. I’d say no, but who knows. This is why I don’t want to know the future because it throws in a wrench into everything. John Green sort of explores the “death in a few months” scenario in the Fault in Our Stars–the main characters fall in love but one of them dies a few months later anyway due to cancer. It stinks but they knew the chances of living happily ever after until old age wasn’t possible.
